MERCER COUNTY CROSS COUNTRY
CHAMPIONSHIPS
COMMODORE PERRY HIGH SCHOOL
OCTOBER 21, 2000
ChampionChip race timing technology was used to score the finish
line. Not only was the technology used to score the finish, but it was used
to collect split times from the 1 mile and 2 mile locations.
Each runner had a computer chip attached to his or her shoe. Special mats
were placed at the 1 mile, 2 mile and finish line locations. As each runner
crossed each mat, his name (via his computer chip) and his time was automatically
recorded.
This split data is an invaluable tool for coaches and runners and any number
friek.
The Runner's High was proud to provide this unique and high tech service
to the Mercer County Championships.
